All about AILET: The NLUD Entrance Exam
AILET, or the All India Law Entrance Test, is an entrance test conducted by NLU Delhi which helps to select Student for Admission in Law courses such as BA LLB (Hons), LLM and PhD. The AILET is held on the first Sunday of May every year. The detailed notification for the AILET is published in leading national newspapers and on the University website during January every year.
Why doesn’t NLU Delhi come under CLAT?
There are two reasons: Firstly, NLU Delhi is a new NLU and does not want to be ranked low in the pecking order. Secondly, what the people at NLU Delhi would say is that they have a better entrance test for themselves and they do not intend to rely on the CLAT scores.
Anyway, NLU Delhi is definitely in the league of the Tier 1 law schools and it is important that you take this entrance test as seriously as CLAT. There are a total of 83 seats in NLU Delhi, 70 of which are filled on merit.
Most of what has been said about CLAT preparations holds true for AILET too. Preparation for AILET will not require any ‘extra’ effort.
The probable date for AILET 2017 is 7th May 2017.
